Airtel's New Launcher Will Get 1 GB Of Data At Just 2.26 Rupees

Airtel has launched a new plan to hit Geo. Airtel has brought a new prepaid pack of 558 rupees, in which user will get 246 GB of data for 82 days. Unlimited calls in new pack, 100 SMS will be available for 82 days. The plan is currently launched by the company in Delhi-NCR Circle, which will be rolling out to Pan India soon. Through this plan, the company wants to overcome Geo's plan of Rs 498.

Geo offers 182 GB of data per day, 2GB of data per day at 498 rupees, with 91 days of validity in its plan. Airtel offers 3 GB of data per day against it. With this, users have been offered free local, STD and national roaming, as well as 100 local and STD SMS freebies per day.

After the data transmission of the day per day in Airtel's plan, the users will get 128kbps speed data. Airtel plans to get 246 GB of high speed data in this plan. That means users per GB data is losing 2.26 rupees.

So, in Geo Plan, 91 GB per day for 182 GB per day, and 1 GB per data per 498 is available at Rs 2.73. It is worth mentioning that the price war between JetO and Airtel has started, as part of which both companies are launching cheaper plans than each other.

Sunil Mittal-owned Bharti Airtel is currently offering a host of data recharge packs apart from its unlimited prepaid plans. These data packs come with specific data limit for a specific period of time. These packs are priced at Rs. 48, Rs. 98, Rs. 175, Rs. 248 and Rs. 398, as mentioned on the official website of Airtel- airtel.in. There is an ongoing data war in the telecom market which kick started in the country’s telecom sector by Mukesh Ambani-run Reliance Jio.

Airtel’s unlimited data pack in detail:

Airtel is offering 400MB of data for Rs. 48. The pack is valid for a duration of 10 days. For its 1GB pack, Airtel is charging Rs. 98 and the pack is valid for 28 days. The 2GB data pack comes at a price of Rs. 175 with a validity of 28 days. Priced at Rs. 248, Airtel’s 3GB data pack is valid for a duration of 28 days. The 5GB data pack, one needs to pay an amount of Rs. 398 which is valid for 28 days.

Last week, Vodafone came up with an offer of 120GBs of free additional data for a year on purchase of Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) smartphone. Any customer opting for Rs. 199 prepaid recharge plan and above will be eligible for the offer, the company said. Vodafone’s postpaid customers who have subscribed to Rs. 399 plan and above can also enjoy the added data benefit of 10 GBs per month upon buying Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1).

Reliance Jio is also set to offer ultra high speed fiber to the home (FTTH) broadband connections with a maximum of 1.1 terabytes of free data. The data will reportedly be offered at a high speeds of 100 megabits per second (mbps).

Hundred local and national SMS (short message service) per day are also offered in this plan. This prepaid recharge plan of Airtel offers unlimited local and STD calls. Incoming and outgoing calls on roaming are also bundled with this plan. This prepaid recharge plan of Airtel is valid for 28 days.

Airtel’s Rs. 349 prepaid recharge plan offers 84GBs of 3G/4G data for a period of 28 days with a daily cap of 3GB data. Unlimited local, STD and roaming voice calls are also bundled with this plan. 100 free SMSes also offered with this recharge plan. The validity of the plan is 28 days.

Airtel joins global alliance to bring high-speed in-flight data connectivity to customers

India’s largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Monday said it has joined a new global collaboration to bring high-speed and uninterrupted in-flight data connectivity to mobile customers. The global partnership Seamless Alliance, whose other founding members include OneWeb, Airbus, Delta and Sprint, will work towards leveraging satellite technology to offer high-speed data connectivity to mobile users even when they are up in the air, an Airtel statement said.

“Airtel has joined the Seamless Alliance which will usher in a new era of open innovation for mobile operators and airlines by empowering mobile operators to extend their services into airline cabins,” the statement added. The global initiative, announced today in Barcelona, will also look at bringing into its fold other industry operators beyond the five founding members.

Together, these members hope to “eliminate the immense costs and hurdles commonly associated with acquisition, installation, and operation of data access infrastructure”. This will be done by streamlining system integration and certification, providing open specifications for interoperability, increasing accessibility for passengers, and enabling simple and integrated billing, the statement added.

“We are delighted to be a founding member of this innovative technology platform to bring seamless connectivity to customers in the true sense,” Gopal Vittal, CEO (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel, said. Over 370 million mobile customers across Airtel’s global network will be able to enjoy uninterrupted access to high-speed data services even while they are in-flight, he added.

Airtel is the third largest mobile operator in the world with operations in 16 countries across Asia and Africa. “We look forward to collaborating with all partner members to ensure this platform goes Live at the earliest,” Vittal said.
